Dear Scientists, Researchers, and Practitioners,

We are pleased to invite you to present your scientific work at the 2nd International Congress on Spatial Planning and Disaster Management (ISPDM’27), organized by the Faculty of Architecture at Çukurova University, to be held on 28–30 April 2027 in Adana, Türkiye.

Under this year's main theme, “Climate Change and Resilience,” the Congress aims to address the environmental, spatial, economic, and social impacts of climate change through a holistic approach and to bring together scientific knowledge, practical experience, and innovative approaches to disaster risk reduction and the development of resilient living environments on an international platform.

Extreme weather events, which may increase in frequency and intensity due to climate change, combined with rapid urbanization, changes in land use, ecosystem degradation, and existing disaster risks, are increasing the vulnerability of cities, rural areas, and natural systems. In response to these multidimensional challenges, resilience has emerged as a fundamental approach encompassing the capacity to adapt to changing environmental conditions, reduce risks, maintain essential functions during crises, and recover and transform into safer and more sustainable systems following disasters.

The Congress welcomes scientific contributions presenting original research findings, theoretical approaches, methodological innovations, and practical solutions. Through the scientific contributions and experiences of academics, researchers, public institutions, local authorities, professional organizations, civil society representatives, and experts from relevant fields, the Congress aims to foster interdisciplinary participation and collaboration.

We cordially invite all researchers whose scientific work contributes to the development of more resilient cities, safer settlements, sustainable ecosystems, and societies with greater adaptive capacity in the face of climate change and disaster risks to participate in ISPDM’27. We look forward to welcoming you to Adana for this scientific gathering, which will provide opportunities to strengthen interdisciplinary exchange and foster new collaborations.
